The often deranged postings of yet another hacker, pretending to be an Astronomer, pretending to be a hacker who has written a book or two for O'Reilly Media.
Do they look any good? For $100 (or $200 to us rich westerners, I guess) it'd be worth having a couple for when you don't want to risk your 3000 dollar mac.
The screen isn't great, and they don't feel very solid, but overall they don't seem too bad. Wandering around the Expo Hall I also noticed that the Fedora guys had borrowed one and installed Linux on it, so if you can't get on with the odd interface to the default OS it looks like it's not too bard to blow it away and fall back to Linux.
I've been hearing rumours here that they'll be about US$500 to us rich westerners though...
